What if, there was a place on the Internet that:
- Optimized for opportunities instead of advertisements
- Was more interested in how you show up as a human, than how your data shows up in an algorithm
- Believed online experiences should feel more like face-to-face interactions
For nearly a decade CreativeMornings, the world’s largest face-to-face creative community, has been bringing together people who are driven by passion and purpose, who support one another, and are collectively raising the bar on what it means to be creative. Now, with the CreativeGuild, we’re giving that community a place to connect online. We believe this version of the Internet can exist. And we want to find a Product Manager that can help us make it happen.
What is the CreativeGuild?
The CreativeGuild is a recently launched membership-based global directory of creative companies, professionals, and jobs. It is a labor of love by CreativeMornings.
Right now, the CreativeGuild is a rolodex of creative companies, but we have an ambitious product road map ahead of us to build the LinkedIn of the creative world.
We are looking for an experienced product manager with a big heart, a passion for the creative community and skills to drive growth in our bootstrapped startup. This role will be part of the product team responsible for launching initiatives to increase membership, keep existing customers subscribing, sharing your vision for new growth opportunities, and spreading best practices throughout the company. It is a full-time position based in our Brooklyn office.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with technology, data, be results-oriented, and can help the team through periods of ambiguity. Prior experience in computer science, prioritizing product roadmaps, optimizing features towards user and business goals, running A/B tests, analyzing data, and working closely with engineering and design is a must. Familiarity with membership-based growth and search engineering, including the systems that power them, is a strong plus.
You’ll be working directly with our founder, Tina Roth Eisenberg, and the data science, user research, design, content, communications, and engineering team members. Some of our team members are remote, others are based in Brooklyn. All of them love to gather frequently for check-ins and ‘stand-ups’ to stay on top of the project. The Product Manager role will span the product life cycle, from envisioning new ways to meet business goals to organizing user research to collaborating with our data scientist, user acquisition lead, designers, and sharing engineering developments with the design-savvy team.
We really like Matt LeMay’s book, “Product Management in Practice” and believe the responsibilities and requirements below map to his CORE skills of product management: communication, organization, research, and execution.
We value your past experiences and want you to adapt them to meet the needs of our team
Organize the team for optimal collaboration. Share best practices with the team by example and in daily practice
Drive high level product strategy and detailed improvements to features that will grow our membership base and keep members coming back
Bridge any gaps between the needs, perspectives and skills of stakeholders and users. For example, ensure the leadership team understands technical decisions to ensure they are done with long-term business goals in mind
Qualitative research: Test prototypes for product-market fit and to optimize features before coding begins
Quantitative research: design and implement A/B tests to optimize the member and potential-member experience. Prepare and present regular updates on growth performance and projections
Keep on top of competitive features and strategies in the industry
You have heart: generosity of spirit, desire to open doors, learn from mistakes, and want to see CreativeGuild succeed with as much passion as we do
Proven ability to get stuff done and resourcefulness that enables launches and the team cohesion
1-3 years experience managing production-grade membership-based software and/or a search system that computes several complex functions on profile data on the fly (E.g. for a relevance or recommendation engine)
Analytical thinker with experience setting key results, finding insights in data and creating actionable recommendations for growth
Great instincts for design with the ability to communicate what makes a great user experience
Collaborate with engineers to ensure profile data is accessible through natural language interfaces, including filtering and recommendations
Excellent tIme management, strong written and verbal communications, ability to manage up and across the team to ensure cohesion
Authorization to work in the United States
